Booking and payment

How do I book one of your houses?+

Write to us directly by email, through the contact form or on WhatsApp. We reply personally within 24 hours with availability, final price and all useful information. No platforms, no middlemen, no hidden fees.

What is the minimum stay?+

Generally 2 nights in low and mid season, 3 nights in high season and during long weekends. For special periods (Easter, mid-August, New Year) the minimum may rise to 4-5 nights. We confirm everything when you ask.

How can I pay?+

We accept bank transfer and card payment via secure link. We usually ask for a 30% deposit upon confirmation and the balance up to 7 days before arrival. For last-minute stays the payment is in a single solution.

Is there a security deposit?+

Yes, a symbolic security deposit is held or pre-authorised on arrival, and refunded in full within a few days of check-out if the apartment is returned in good condition. We explain everything transparently before your arrival.

Is there a tourist tax?+

Yes, it's set by the Municipalities and is paid in cash at check-in, with a regular receipt. • Bedda Matri (Catania): €3 per person per night, for a maximum of 4 consecutive nights. • Libeccio House (Avola): €2 per person per night, for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights. Children below the age set by the municipal regulation are exempt: we confirm this at booking time.

Check-in and check-out

What time is check-in?+

From 3:00 PM. If you arrive earlier we can store your luggage and, when the apartment is free, anticipate your entry at no extra cost. Just let us know one day in advance.

What time is check-out?+

By 10:00 AM. If you have an afternoon flight or train we can consider a late check-out (depending on the next arrival) or keep your luggage in storage.

Will someone be there to welcome us?+

Yes, check-in is always in person. We wait for you at the apartment, hand over the keys, show you around and share our tips on the neighbourhood, restaurants and things to see. We want you to feel at home from the very start.

The house

Are pets allowed?+

At the moment we cannot welcome pets, due to the characteristics of the houses and out of respect for following guests. If you have a small dog, write to us: we evaluate case by case.

Is there parking?+

Bedda Matri is in the heart of Catania's historic centre: we'll point you to the most convenient and affordable supervised parking, just a few minutes on foot. For Libeccio House in Avola free street parking nearby is easy to find.

Does the Wi-Fi work well?+

Yes, both houses have fast and stable fibre, suitable also for smart working and HD video calls.

Are utilities included?+

Yes, all included: electricity, water, gas, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, cotton bed and bath linens, welcome set and final cleaning. No surprise costs at check-out.

Location and surroundings

How far is the sea?+

From Bedda Matri (Catania) you're about 10 minutes by car from La Plaja beach and the Playa cliffs. From Libeccio House (Avola) the sea is practically around the corner: 5 minutes by car for Avola's sandy beaches and less than 15 minutes for the coves of Calamosche and Marzamemi.

Is there a supermarket nearby?+

Yes, in both cases you'll find groceries, bakeries, greengrocers and supermarkets a few minutes on foot. We'll leave you a map with our favourites, including the historic markets (Pescheria in Catania, fish market in Avola).

Do I need a car?+

In Catania for Bedda Matri you don't: the centre is lived on foot and for excursions (Etna, Taormina, Syracuse) you can rent a car only for the days you need it. For Libeccio House in Avola we recommend a car: it lets you freely explore Noto, Marzamemi, Vendicari, the south-east coves and Val di Noto.
